I have more than 20 years of experience in the art world, working with different mediums. Most recently I have enjoyed exploring acrylics on canvas.

Chris and I travel to New Orleans at least once a year - we both have family there.  George Rodrigue, a NOLA artist, is one of my sources of inspiration. Rodrigue began his career by painting his dog, Tiffany, into different Cajun and swampy scenes. His style is marvelous. In 2009, we returned from NOLA and Chris kept talking about his work. Her birthday was a few months away and I thought: "Hmmm...I'll try and paint our dog Sasha in a similar style."

Several people inquired about the painting and asked if I could paint their animal, "like that, only I want a yellow background and a purple dog," stated one person. Thus, this line of works was born. I've shifted my style and now include the detail and life in dog's eyes, rather than opting for yellow circles where eyes should be.

I absolutely love collaborating with people to create just the image that is wanted. Whether it's an image of your fury friend - that barks (I can't paint cat's...I've tried) and capturing that unique look that only your dog has, or designing art for your bar, or something else entirely. I just enjoy hearing peoples' stories and painting.

March 19, 2020, I made a commitment to paint for the first 10 minutes of each day. I continue this practice now and have created a series of chickens expressing emotions, titled: The Covid Cock Series.

Peace,
